Playing Models Symposium

Project Associate Professor Toshiki Hirano will take part in Playing Models 2026, an international symposium held at SCI-Arc in Los Angeles on 18 September 2026.

Playing Models: Artificial Intelligence – Architecture – Storytelling is an annual symposium run jointly by the University of Florida, ETH Zurich, Carnegie Mellon University, and Lawrence Technological University. Now in its fifth cycle, it examines the mathematical, political, and philosophical shifts arriving with AI from the perspective of architecture.

Hirano joins Panel 3, Models for Making / Interfaces Orchestrate Agency, which addresses the moment when models stop merely representing possibilities and begin acting as agents that intervene in the world.
