KUMA LAB

A1: Lecture Series

Q2: What is in your photo?
A2: Part of book shelf at home.

Q3: Please let us know if the photo contains something worth mentioning.

Q4: Tell us about your recent interests.
A4: I usually create sound installations, and sometimes I think that all I want to install is just sound, and I really don’t want to put speakers! or anything else! After thinking about it many times, I realized that the only way to achieve this is to create a space where only sound exists without playback equipment… In other words, to create a building.

Q5: How do you want to be part of SEKISUI HOUSE – KUMA LAB?
A5: During the lecture, I strongly felt the attitude and idea of building not only architecture as a material but also space in an image, for example, what kind of sound evokes what kind of space. I create a space in my image and try to realize it in the real world by sounding it. I would like to think together with you about what possibilities there are if we were to really create such a space instead of using sound.
